Name:
Amber Moreau

Where do you currently live? Reno, NV

How far along were you when you found out you were expecting twins
6 1/2 weeks

Any issues during your pregnancy? Nope, none. The twins were born on a Friday afternoon and I worked up until the Tuesday before that. I was very blessed with a easy pregnancy.

Memorable/funny moment when you were pregnant:
We had a friend do an ultrasound for us at 16 weeks hoping to find out the sex of the babies. She thought it was 2 boys. I immediately looked at my husband and told him we would be trying for a girl once the babies were older. Two weeks later we were at the perinatologist for our "big" ultrasound and turns out baby "b" was a girl. I was so excited and had to take back quite a few outfits I had bought.

Looking back, what is one thing you would tell your pregnant self? To enjoy every moment. We had experienced a miscarriage and then it took us a year of trying to get pregnant before we found out we were having twins. I was worried something would go wrong and was crazy obsessive about what I ate, drank or even if I was around smoke. I wish I would have just enjoyed the little things more.

How many weeks/days were you when your twins were born? 35 weeks 2 days

Baby A's Information:  Noah Arthur
12/19/08
5lbs 12oz
19 inches
11:06am

Baby B's Information:
Emma Julia
12/19/08
5lbs 9oz
19 inches
11:08am

Did you have a c-section or natural delivery? C-section. Noah was breech and blocking Emma.

Any NICU time?  If yes, for what reason and how long? Nope. Both babies went straight to the "well baby" nursery.

Did you have any complications after delivery? The dr accidentally cut into my placenta when she went to get Noah out. They were worried about the amount of blood that was lost. I was in recovery for about 3 1/2 hours before I saw the twins and had to take iron supplements the entire stay at the hospital.

How long did you stay in the hospital?
4 nights/ 5 days

Did your twins stay with you or the hospital nursery at night? Both. They were with us all day and then brought to me at night to Breastfeed when they woke up.

What are three things you are so glad you had (or wish you would have had) at the hospital?
I didn't even have my bag packed so I wish I would have had a lot of things. On top of all that, the day my water broke, we were supposed to receive the keys to our new house. We had friends go pick them up my poor husband moved us while he wasn't at the hospital with me and the babies. By the end of my stay I was very grateful for my boppy pillow, nursing pads and slippers.

Describe one of your favorite moments while you were at the hospital:
My twins were born right before Christmas so when they were brought to our room they had each baby placed in a stocking. By far the best Christmas gifts I've ever received.

If you had one piece of advice you could give an expecting mom of twins, what would it be? Do what's best for you and your family. I had so many people offering advice that it was overwhelming. So many different opinions and suggestions. In the end those are your babies so do what's best for you, your husband and most importantly your babies.
