Name: Crystal
Where do you currently live? Texas
How far along were you when you found out you were expecting twins? 6 weeks - We did IVF after eight years of infertility and loss. We transferred two beautiful embryos and knew there was a chance!!
Any issues during your pregnancy? I developed Peeclampsia in the last two months of pregnancy and spent the last month on strict bed rest. Not fun, but it was kind of nice to be out of work and just daydream about what life was going to be like when they arrived. I watched tons of Netflix and just relaxed. I work as a Hotel Manager and worked all the way up to 33 weeks on my feet.
Memorable/funny moment when you were pregnant: One time I tried to get up from the couch and couldn't, because my belly was so big. My husband was sitting next to me and we both started laughing about it. While laughing he pushed on my back to give me a little boost and I peed all over myself and the couch, haha.
I loved feeling baby hiccups.
Looking back, what is one thing you would tell your pregnant self? Not to stress out about when they will arrive. They will come when they want to come!!
How many weeks/days were you when your twins were born? 37 weeks exactly

Are your twins identical? Fraternal
Did you have a c-section or natural delivery? I was originally scheduled to be induced at 37 weeks on 1/8/2014 and had an appointment scheduled on that Monday to check the positions of the babies. On 1/6/2014 I went in for my appointment and my blood pressure was 165/98 so they decided to keep me! I went straight to L&D, got settled in and was already 70% effaced and dilated to 1cm. We started induction that evening around 7:00pm. I labored into the night and into the next day. At about 3:00pm on 1/7/2014 I got an epidural and started pushing at 10:45 that evening. At 11:45 I was wheeled to the operating room. I did not want them born on different days, so I held Baby A in for 10 minutes and pushed him out right at midnight. Baby B turned transverse, and my doctor tried to do a breech extraction, but Baby B would not turn and was super stubborn, so we had an emergency c-section and he was born 24 minutes later.
Any NICU time? If yes, for what reason and how long? No! Both Boys had jaundice and low blood sugars. It took several days for things to level out, but they did great after a few days!!
Did you have any complications after delivery? My blood pressure stayed very high for a few weeks after delivery.
How long did you (the parents) stay in the hospital? 4 days
Did your twins stay with you or in the hospital nursery at night? They stayed with us each night and all day!!
What are three things you are so glad you had (or wish you would have had) at the hospital?
My body pillow, comfortable clothes and our camera.
Describe one of your favorite moments while you were at the hospital: Holding the boys together for the first time. Due to the c-section for Baby B, things got a little intense. I was shaking so badly from all the medications being pumped into my body for the c-section. When I was taken back to the room (within 30 minutes) and they placed them both on my chest I bawled like a baby. It was the most incredible feeling in the world.
Also watching each of my family members meet them for the first time.
If you had one piece of advice you could give an expecting mom of twins, what would it be? Stay calm in the moments that allow and soak in every beautiful and crazy moment!! It is overwhelming and so amazing at the same time. You will do great!!
