Name:
Adriana

Where do you currently live?  Atlanta, GA

How far along were you when you found out you were expecting twins11 weeks, 6 days

Any issues during your pregnancy?
I was put on couch rest at 32 weeks to prevent any preterm labor.

Memorable/funny moment when you were pregnant: The day we found out we were having twins. We did IVF but only transferred one embryo (suggested from our doctor). After being told we were only having one baby at two separate ultrasounds, I saw what looked like a bouncing ball detached from the main baby at our third ultrasound! I completely panicked as I thought something was wrong with my baby. We were told that day that the embryo had performed a magic trick and split in two!!

Looking back, what is one thing you would tell your pregnant self?  Enjoy and embrace your pregnancy more, take more belly shots, enjoy yourself and don't be afraid every single day that something bad is going to happen just because you are having twins.

How many weeks/days were you when your twins were born? 35 weeks and 2 days

Are your twins identical? Yes

Did you have a c-section or natural delivery?  C-section! The day before I went into labor I noticed the babies were not moving as much and I had a very tight sensation in my upper abdominal area. I decided to go to the hospital for an ultrasound as I thought for sure something was wrong with the babies but never expected to deliver that day. It happened that my cervix was 2 cm dilated and the doctor was very glad we went to the hospital when we did! Being told you are the next one in line for a c-section at only 35 weeks and 2 days is the scariest thing that has ever happened to me! I cried from that moment until It was my turn for the c-section.

Any NICU time?  If yes, for what reason and how long?  I consider this a miracle and very thankful to be able to answer this question with a big NO.

Did you have any complications after delivery? No.

How long did you (the parents) stay in the hospital? 4 days

Did your twins stay with you or the hospital nursery at night? Nursery at night. I felt more comfortable with the nurses watching them than myself.

What are three things you are so glad you had (or wish you would have had) at the hospital?
1. My mom! I don't know what I would have done without her. My husband was there too but sometimes you just want your mom.
2. My nice bath robe.
I wish I had time to do my hair! I felt like I needed a makeover every single day I was there.

Describe one of your favorite moments while you were at the hospital:  When I was able to breastfeed my babies at the same time! The nurses were very impressed on how developed my babies were for being 35 weekers.

If you had one piece of advice you could give an expecting mom of twins, what would it be?  Find the best doctor you can and follow his/her advice to a T. I believe that's what saved my babies from the NICU. I followed a very specific high protein diet along with some high water consumption and rest restrictions.

  1. I am so proud of my beautiful daughter, and I thanks God for Hal, my son in law, for being always besides her. I am the most happy grandma in the world, I love my grandkids. Michael and Benjamin are my life.
