Name:
Naomi Elliott

Where do you currently live?  Cumming, GA

How far along were you when you found out you were expecting twins? 7 weeks

Any issues during your pregnancy?
At my 12 week ultrasound baby A had an elevated NT measurement (the area behind the neck). I had a CVS screening to rule out any chromosomal abnormalities. The results were normal, baby A (my boy) was born happy and healthy!

Memorable/funny moment when you were pregnant: I had my first set of spontaneous b/g twins in September 2009. In 2013 my husband and I decided to try for one more. At my 7 week ultrasound we went through a bevy of emotions when we found out we were expecting twins, AGAIN!!

Looking back, what is one thing you would tell your pregnant self?  Hmmm... Since this was my second go around, I was able to take my own advice.
1) Don't let the stretch marks bother you. Your sweet babies are worth every one.
2) Invest in a good pregnancy pillow! They make such a huge difference.
3) Take pride in your twin belly. You are growing TWO incredible lives in there...

How many weeks/days were you when your twins were born?
I was 39 weeks when I begged to be induced.  ;) My doctor wanted me to go longer...

Baby A's Information:

Baby B's Information:  Marin Kate

Are your twins identical?  No. Both sets are B/G

Did you have a c-section or natural delivery?  I had a c-section with my first set of twins. I was talked into it by my doctor. *side note* my di/di twins were head down. There was no reason for the c-section. I never even went into active labor. I was dissatisfied by the experience and wanted to try for a VBAC for the second time around. It was tricky to find a doctor who was willing to let me try with twins, but I was able to find one. My sweet babies were delivered via successful VBAC, and I couldn't have been happier about my decision. Having birthed both ways, c-section and vaginally, I had much more of a pleasant experience with my VBAC.

Any NICU time?  If yes, for what reason and how long?  No. First set was born at 36 weeks. Second set was born at 39 weeks. Thankfully neither set spent any time in the NICU. :)

Did you have any complications after delivery? Nope.

How long did you (the parents) stay in the hospital?
2 days

Did your twins stay with you or in the nursery at night?  There wasn't a nursery at the hospital, so they were with us the whole time.

What are three things you are so glad you had (or wish you would have had) at the hospital?
1) Nursing tank top
2) Flip fops to wear in the shower
3) Breath mints- Not sure why, but you get bad breath while in labor...

Describe one of your favorite moments while you were at the hospital:  While the nurse was giving Marin her first bath she started cooing. It was the cutest thing. Once they unwrapped her, naturally, she started screaming her head off. But once they started pouring the warm water on her head, she loved it so much she immediately stopped crying, and started making the sweetest little noises.

If you had one piece of advice you could give an expecting mom of twins, what would it be?
The journey through twin pregnancy will most likely be difficult, expensive, and uncomfortable. However, having twins is so special. Always having a baby to snuggle is nice. Always having an instant playmate/best friend for your kids is a blessing. And let's be honest, most people oooh and ahhh over twins more than singletons. :)
