Name:
Analydia Liquet

Where do you currently live?  Virginia Beach, Virginia

How far along were you when you found out you were expecting twins? I was 8 weeks!!

Any issues during your pregnancy?
I had absolutely no complications, thank God!! Never even felt a Braxton Hicks contraction.

Memorable/funny moment when you were pregnant: Oh my gosh, the expression on everybody's face when they'd see my babies move inside of my tummy!! The faces were just priceless! :)

Looking back, what is one thing you would tell your pregnant self?  "ATTEMPT TO HAVE THEM VAGINALLY!!!" I was really scared at the time plus my OB wasn't exactly encouraging. So yeah, if I could that's what I'd tell my pregnant self. I believe with so much confidence, after the fact, that I could have done it without any complications or risk of having one vaginally and the other c-section. (My doctor put the fear of God in me, haha.)

How many weeks/days were you when your twins were born?
38 weeks and 2 days

Baby A's Information:
Joseph Theodore
Sept. 18, 2013
5 lbs 14.9 oz
19 1/2 in

Baby B's Information:  Josiah Alexander
Sept. 18, 2013
5 lbs 8.5 oz
9 3/4 in

Are your twins identical?  No

Did you have a c-section or natural delivery?  I had a c-section and the entire experience was awful. My whole stay at the hospital was awful. I got a c-section because my baby b decided to flip around last minute and also because my doctor never planned for a vaginal birth.

Any NICU time?  If yes, for what reason and how long?  When they were born and we were staying in the hospital they never went to the NICU but my son Joseph did after we went back home.

Did you have any complications after delivery? I put my son Joseph in his crib and I was watching him sleep and he spit up a lot and before I was able to pick him up and suction the spit up out of his mouth he took a breath. After that he choked and couldn't catch his breath and for awhile turned red. Of course I freaked and took him to the emergency and they made him stay in the NICU because he had stopped breathing. He stayed for about a month and it turned out he had abnormal breathing patterns so he stayed until the caffeine they prescribed him took affect.   When I finally got Joseph home I took Josiah to get circumcised and after they finished my sister dropped us off at my home. I was alone (my sister lived like 45 minutes away) and my sons were sleeping so I put them in their crib and when it was time for their next feeding I took the blanket off of Josiah and he was soaking in his own blood.  I grabbed him, changed him put a new pamper on him and rushed to the hospital he and I spent about a week in the PICU he needed a blood transfusion and it turned out that a vessel was cut and never stopped bleeding.

How long did you (the parents) stay in the hospital?
My husband left the second day and I stayed for 4 days.

Did your twins stay with you or in the nursery at night?  They stayed with me and they also stayed in the nursery... in all honesty that whole hospital memory is a blur.

What are three things you are so glad you had (or wish you would have had) at the hospital?
Help. My family.
Describe one of your favorite moments while you were at the hospital:  Hearing my babies crying when they come out and seeing them and holding them!!!

If you had one piece of advice you could give an expecting mom of twins, what would it be?
It's hard... but it's worth it.  Don't rush them to come into the world let them bake for as long as possible. When they are out you will feel overwhelmed with loads and loads of emotions - if you have to cry do it. Scream even!! When they get older and they're crawling and your frustrated go into another room and give yourself time to contain yourself. Enjoy them, hold them, and cuddle and if they cry carry them.  Don't worry about spoiling them - they grow so quickly you want to take as any pictures as possible and videos.  They'll be fun to watch later!
