How far along were you when you found out you were expecting twins 7 weeks

Any issues during your pregnancy?
I went into l&d at 30 weeks because I hadn't felt a lot of movement from my little girl. They hooked me up to the monitor and of course she was going crazy! I found out I was contracting every 2-3 minutes and was dilated to 1 1/2cm. They gave me 2 liters of fluid and a medication called Procardia to try and stop them. I ended up staying the night in the hospital and was put on bedrest (at home) and Procardia until 36 weeks.

Memorable/funny moment when you were pregnant:
I'm sure there are too many to remember. The first time you realize you can't put on your own shoes or pants is always an entertaining moment.

Looking back, what is one thing you would tell your pregnant self? Don't try and be super woman. I was determined not to be a typical "twin mom." I was going to work until 38 weeks and continue to do everything I did prior to becoming pregnant. Learn to let the unnecessary things go.

How many weeks/days were you when your twins were born?
37 weeks

Did you have a c-section or natural delivery? I had a vaginal delivery. I delivered in the operating room just in case I needed a c-section. Luckily both my babies behaved!

Any NICU time? If yes, for what reason and how long?  My two angels spent ZERO time in the NICU. This was one of my biggest fears and I am so thankful we were able to avoid this.

Did you have any complications after delivery? I had high blood pressure after delivery that was monitored. I continued to have increased swelling and high bp so and ended up being put on Procardia about a week after delivery. It worked miracles! After two days I finally has something that resembled feet and calves.

How long did you (the parents) stay in the hospital?
2 nights. The twins had to stay an extra night, so I did a hotel stay.

Did your twins stay with you or in the hospital nursery at night?
They stayed in my room most of the time. I finally got smart one night and had the nursery take then for a few hours.

What are three things you are so glad you had (or wish you would have had) at the hospital?
1- My own comfy clothes
2- Pads.  The hospital provided the monster pads you will he grateful for right after delivery. By the last day I just wanted to wear a regular, non-diaper sized pad. Always infinity pads were the bomb!
3- Electronic devices and power cords. I used my phone a lot while I was there and was happy I had all my cords to charge things.

Describe one of your favorite moments while you were at the hospital: Of course seeing my babes for the first time was amazing. My absolute favorite moment has to be seeing my husband as a dad. There is something about watching your husband melt when he holds your two precious babies.

If you had one piece of advice you could give an expecting mom of twins, what would it be?
Listen to your body. If you think you're overdoing it, then you definitely are. Remember you are growing two humans!
